2020 Bayer Foundation Report
Bayer Foundation is uniquely positioned at the interface between science and social innovation - two of the key drivers when it comes to reaching a World with Health for All and Hunger for None. The Foundation’s first Report, sheds a light on our work and key achievements.
In sub-Saharan Africa, less than 15% have access to health insurance. Millions die because they cannot pay for medical treatment. Social enterprise mTOMADY sets out to change that. Its new project with Bayer Foundation will impact the lives of 25,000 smallholder families in Madagascar.
On 17 February 2021, in a virtual ceremony, the Bayer Foundation presented five outstanding scientists with the 2020 Awards: The “Early Excellence in Science Awards” honor four talented young scientists, Julia Mahamid, Marinka Zitnik, Nicolai Franzmeier and Josep Cornellà. The internationally renowned Otto Bayer Award goes to Ruth Ley.
